Executive Chef and Owner Jonathan Philips studied a vast variety of cuisine at Johnson and Wales University but truly fell in love with the idea of blending American cuisine with Asian and French styles. After culinary school, Jonathan began to hone his culinary skills working for some of the South Shore premier restaurants, Tosca and the Square Cafe.
At Tosca, Jonathan worked under Executive Chef Kevin Long where he developed a passion, understanding and respect for food and fellow peers. After experiencing Italian cuisine with continental influences, he decided to move onto neighboring restaurant, The Square Café.
Jonathan spent over five years as the Executive Sous Chef at the Square Café under mentor Executive Chef Andrea Schnell. Andrea shared her extensive knowledge with Jonathan about fusing flavors by blending Asian and French cuisines.
In 2008, Jonathan accepted a new position as the Executive Chef of The Golf Club of Cape Cod, where he fell in love with the Cape and the town of Falmouth.
For the past five golf seasons, Jonathan has been pleasing the palates of club's members and guests and solidifying himself as one of the premier chefs on Cape Cod. In 2009, the club opened its Grille Room doors to the general public where Jonathan and his team established many Falmouth regulars and realized that his dream of owning a restaurant was in the near future. In the Fall of 2012, Jonathan and his wife Jill, who is also in the golf business, realized the time was now to pursue one of their life long dreams of opening their own restaurant.
With the support of family and friends, Jill and Jon pursued their dream and opened C Salt Wine Bar & Grille in the Spring of 2013.
